How to Make a Car Office

In less than an hour, you can make a car office for your car that will keep you organized. You will spend less time looking for that paper you need; time better spent actually talking to your clients and making the sale.

Things You'll Need:

  • car desk
  • file box with handles
  • hanging file folders
  • cell cup holder

Step 1: Simple file box.
Purchase a hanging file folder box to organize the paperwork for a car office. In the box, create folders for the car office to neatly separate brochures or flyers so you can grab the appropriate literature for a particular client. Keep this box in the trunk of your car.

Step 2: Organize papers.
Make a car office with a different container to organizer papers. Note it is made of plastic with a easy-carry handle on top. Purchase an organizer which has compartments molded in the lid to store extra pens, paperclips, etc.

Step 3: Hanging file folders.
Carry your car office inside the house at night if you need to brush up on some literature before the next day's sales calls. Pull out the folders you need to review instead of carrying the whole box back and forth.

Step 4: Banker box.
If you carry a lot of sales samples, invest in a few banker boxes to keep in the trunk of the car. Keep samples clean and tidy in a box instead of rolling around on the floorboard. Label the front of these flat-packed boxes for easy identification of the contents.

Step 5: Cell cup holder.
Use a cell cup holder as an effective organizer for the car office. Store the cell phone, a pen, and a small note pad for taking notes. Find these handy cell cup holders for under $10.

Step 6: Car desk. (http://www.mobilegear.com/)
When you're ready to invest a little more, do a search on google for a car desk. The price varies, but if you work out of your car, you will find a car desk invaluable. Whatever your budget may be, use any of these items to make a car office.
